Life with allergies to pollen and dust doesn’t always have to be troublesome and miserable. Be it pollen or dust that acts as a trigger to your allergy, you needn’t restrict yourself from going out or having a great time maintaining your garden. This holds true for even those who have seasonal allergies. Maintain a few healthy habits to stay more at ease in spite of your allergy.
Gardening is often given up by those who have allergies to dust and pollen.
A few practical tips can help keep your pollen and dust allergies at bay:
- Pollen counts are high during warm or windy days. So avoid gardening during such days.
- It is an observed fact that pollens are washed away from air when it rains. This fact suggests that if you water your garden before working in it, the pollens will be less in number.
- Wear a mask while you are working in your garden.
- Have a separate set of gardening robe and shoe. Make sure you keep the gardening robes and shoes outside the house.
- Shower and change your clothes when you finish your gardening.
- Consult a knowledgeable florist to know about plants, trees and shrubs that have less allergic reaction and get them planted in your garden.
