Cockroaches are a menace. Almost all the apartments in crowded suburbs of USA combat the problem of cockroaches daily. And if anyone from your family has Asthma then you got to be very careful and get rid of cockroaches the earliest.
Saliva, blood and feces of Cockroaches contain certain proteins that are allergenic.
Symptoms
The symptoms of Cockroach allergy vary from person to person. You can have a mildly itchy skin, a scratchy throat, itchy eyes and nose. The allergy symptoms might become severe in people already suffering from asthma.
Prevention
- Keep your home clean. When you are done with your meals dispose the left over food in the garbage bin and put down the lid.
- Do not leave dirty food bowls out of the kitchen. Do the dishes immediately after you finish your meals.
- Fix all your leaky faucets and drain pipes. Water sources like these attract cockroaches.
- Mop your kitchen floor and clean your counter tops everyday.
- Block the crevices around the house. This might prevent the cockroaches to enter your home.
- Restrict food only to your kitchen and dining room. This would prevent the spread of cockroaches in the rest of your house.
- Call the pest control experts to get rid of the cockroaches permanently.
