Good news for all the 40 million Americans who are suffering from Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis (SAR) caused by pollens like grass and ragweed. One recent research study found that no-inhalated, intranasal carbon dioxide (CO2) can effectively treat seasonal allergies without any side effects.
In fact many people who are suffering from SAR are also suffering from related problems like asthma. This research is good news for all those who want to relive themselves from all these complications.
The following are the interested findings of the research study:
- When it is first administered on the sufferers of SAR it creates a burning/stinging sensation. Apart from this there is not any other significant side effect with this technique.
- The treatment with CO2 can be a great alternative for those who don’t want to be treated with intranasal steroids.
- The seasonal allergy sufferers who are treated with C02 have reported that there is a significant improvement in congestion, sneezing and other symptoms of allergies within ten minutes of the treatment and it lasted for at least 24 hours.
- The patients also reported that there is a significant improvement in non-nasal symptoms like watery and itchy eyes.
- Just within 30 minutes of receiving the CO2 treatment, 50% of the patients reported 50% improvement in nasal symptoms.
