Allergies can cause hay fever, leading to runny nose and nasal congestion. To get rid of nasal congestion caused due to allergies, a Neti pot can be used. Neti pot clears the nasal passages of mucus, pollen, and other allergens. Neti pot is a ceramic pot which looks like Aladdin’s lamp. Place the spout of Neti pot in one nostril and pour the saline solution into it. The saline solution will flow out from the top nostril to the lower nostril. Repeat the same process with the other nostril.
The saline solution poured inside your nostrils clears the mucus, dust, pollen and other irritants in your nasal passages. People with severe sinus symptoms find it useful to use Neti pot daily. However, if your symptoms have subsided, using Neti pot 3 times a week is enough.
