Beta-Carotene Allergy Treatment

Beta carotene belongs to caretenoids – which are orange, red or yellow pigmented compounds. Beta-carotene is helpful for treating allergies as it strengthens the immune system and protects the mucus membrane. It is also a good source of Vitamin A.  Food sources of Beta-Carotene are carrots, spinach, collard greens, and turnit greens. Although beta-carotene supplements are available, getting it through diet is recommended.

Beta-carotene helps in reducing the allergy in the following ways:

Beta carotene offers health benefits such as protection of reproductive health, prevention of  cancer. Vitamin C, magnesium, vitamin E and vitamin B complex are also helpful in fighting allergies.Taking these vitamins can help in reducing the allergic reaction when an allergen is encountered.

Beta-carotene in the diet is better than taking it in the form of supplements. Make sure you take beta carotene to fight allergies.
