Histamine compound is released in the body system causing inflammatory response as a result of any injury or allergen.   • Vitamins A, C and E –

    These vitamins are very powerful antioxidants which can reverse the free radical damage and strengthen the immune system, therefore reducing allergic reaction. Vitamin C can be available in citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruit, limes, lemons, green leafy vegetables and broccoli. Vitamin A is available in carotenoid containing vegetables like pumpkin, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green leafy vegetables and apricots. Vitamin E is more in sunflower seeds, almonds, vegetable oils, avocados and dark leafy greens.

  • Anti-Inflammatory Foods –

    There are some foods which contain anti-inflammatory properties that help in reducing the inflammatory responses. Pineapple contains digestive enzyme bromelian and papaya contains papain which can reduce inflammation. Quecetin is another anti-inflammatory compound found in apples, citrus fruits, parsley, red onions, red wine and tea. Omega-3 fatty acid is another well known anti-inflammatory compound available in walnuts, flax seeds and salmon fish.

  • Roots and Spices –

    They also form a part of antihistamine diet. Roots and spices like garlic, ginger, wasabi, horseradish, cayenne pepper and turmeric are important anti-inflammatory agents which strengthen the immune system.
