For determining this allergic condition, the doctor uses a combination of allergy tests along with a complete physical examination. The first thing is that the patient is asked to maintain a food diary in which he/she has to write the details of the consumed diet for the day. After analyzing the diary, elimination diet is made. Under the doctor’s supervision, certain foods are eliminated from the diet which are commonly the allergens. Later, blood test and skin test are carried out to determine the exact allergen.

During a skin test, some drops of wheat proteins are dropped on the skin. The skin develops itchy red bumps if it is allergic to this particular protein.
