Cedar Allergy Prevention

Below are some of the tips to prevent this type of allergy:

  • Stay indoors. However, staying inside wouldn’t protect you. However, try not to be out between 5am to 10 am when the pollen burst is at the peak.
  • Another tip is to get rid of cedar trees by replacing it by other trees. Ask your neighbors and encourage them also to do the same.
  • After you come home from outside, take a shower and wash your clothes immediately.
  • Close your doors and windows of both your car and home while travelling. This would reduce your pollen exposure to a great extent.
  • Use air conditioners and keep changing your filter. You can also keep cheesecloth over the vents for pollen filtration.
  • Dust your furniture with a wet cloth and keep your upholstery and carpets vacuumed.
  • Your pets must be bathed as well even if they stay indoors because their fur contains pollen.
  • Take your cedar allergy medicines as prescribed by a doctor.

Cedar allergies if treated at the right time can make you feel better. However, if you ignore the signs, then they tend to become worse.  So, take all the preventive measures and the best thing is to avoid pollen by staying indoors.
